Mathew here. I'm the lead editor and founder of Letterbrace.
I am often asked of the differences between Draft.dev and Letterbrace.
Draft.dev is a full-stack marketing agency. They care about pushing volume and taking care of the whole process. They'll do SEO research, write out SEO briefs, target 40 pieces a year, and charge $10,000 per month with a 6 month minimum. They are priced for enterprise.
Letterbrace, meanwhile, is a bunch of nerds that like to write. Our north star is creating honest, high-quality work. Volume is a secondary thing. We also do SEO research and SEO briefs, but it's more of a complimentary benefit to our writing. We charge à la carte, per hour, or per month—client's pick. We don't have a minimum commitment. We recognize that content needs are typically seasonal, and therefore we prefer to be flexible with pricing, volume, and work structure to best serve our customers. We work with both small and large companies.
We're designed for teams that care about quality. If you need 15+ articles per month, we're not the solution for you. That said, we've been hired to refurbish Draft.dev content which is sometimes lacking in quality, as evidenced by this Reddit thread (no shade to them, that's just a consequence of pursuing volume). We'll do that shape-up work hourly, typically running the meter to around $300-750 per post.
One last note—we have a radically different philosophy on team. Draft.dev follows a typical outsourcing business model. They pay their writers around 18-24% the per-article cost (i.e. they charge customers around $2,400 but pay the writer between $315 to $578 per post). This is made possible by hiring writers across the international market with varying pay expectations. Letterbrace, meanwhile, is close-knit and nuclear. Our writers are all on eastern or central time. I'm the lead writer on a majority of our content. Whenever I'm not, I ensure that the partner writer earns at least 60% of the article fee (upwards to 85%).
Of course, this post is subject to bias. I encourage you to book calls with both Draft.dev and us to attain a balanced perspective.
